Mutt and Junkyard....GI JOE's gruesome twosome!!

GI Joe series three had some big hits...and Mutt was one of my favorites!! A cranky dog handler!! What kid couldn't find a spot for a guy like that!?!

This guy came with some great gear too!! The silenced Mac-11 and night stick got used ALOT!!

The best memory I have of this guy is when the Joes captured Cobra Commander and stashed him away in my Headquarters Playset. Mutt and Junkyard were in charge of the prisoner. When the jailbreak came Mutt wasn't going to let CC go easily. At the end he hoisted Junkyard into the cell. When Major Bludd made his way into the cell block......there wasn't much to rescue except the helmet full of C-4.

Good Boy!!!!

Savage Sword of Conan Volume 1 !!! A collection of AWESOME!!!

I am soooo excited to have these beauties!!! I got volumes 1 thru 5 and will be reading the heck out of these!!

Oh, you probably want to know what I'm talking about.....

This is SAVAGE SWORD of CONAN vol 1 from Dark Horse Books!!!!

This volume collects Conan's appearances in Savage Tales of Conan 1 thru 5 and Savage Sword of Conan (SSOC) issues 1 thru 10!!

I still remember the first time I read SSOC. I was in study hall and one guy had a few. He and his friends were talkin them up. I remember asking them about the mag and after a bit of reluctance on his part (I cant blame him, I had long hair, wore concert tees and a leather jacket everywhere and reeked of smoke) he let me read one........I WAS HOOKED!! I had a paper route at the time and every Saturday my Dad would take me to the SuperFlea in Depew (GEX for us old people) and I'd fly past the knives, swords and bongs and get right to the Queen City Comic stand. But after that experience I'd add SSOC to my loot along with GI JOE, Punisher, The Nam and the many others. I couldn't believe that so much could be packed into a wonderful black and white magazine!!

Beautiful art!!

Awesome action!!

and of course!!! The voluptuous WOMEN!!!

I started reading somewhere around issue 100 back then but I am so stoked to start at the beginning and relive these memories. Just flipping through it now I get such more appreciation for the art in this book. I cannot stress enough how much I will enjoy this journey!!

This weeks assignment from the League of Extraordinary Bloggers: MIXTAPE MADNESS!!

This weeks assignment for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers:

What songs were forever being looped on your car’s stereo back in high school. A cassette could only hold a dozen or so songs, so that’s the magic number of songs to list. If your car didn’t have a cassette deck in high school, go ahead and pretend it did, you punk.

My wife (girlfriend back then) and I had about a gajillion mix tapes all over the place, we drove all over i my '82 Monte Carlo cause at the time gas was like a buck a gallon, maybe 50 to 60 cents on the reservation, smokes were 2 bucks a pack, and we had decent jobs!! So we ditched the 8-track players, got Cassette players and cranked the tunes!!

What was on the tape deck?

1. RUSH - Circumstances
2. Black Sabbath - A National Acrobat
3. Alice in Chains - Would?
These are the first three songs I learned to play on my bass and listened to em incessantly!
4. Ace Frehley - Whats on your Mind
5. Boston - More than a Feelin
6. Meatloaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Lights
Good cruisin music!!
7. Anne Murray - Daydream Believer
8. Kenny Loggins - Danny's song
Hey! I got a soft side ya know!!
9. Manowar - Pleasure Slave
10. SLAYER, METALLICA, PRIMUS.....TAKE YOUR PICK!!!!

Special mention to GWAR !! Scumdogs of the universe!! We played that whole tape constantly...it was the concert we went to on our first date :) Google it and see how romantic it is....

HEY!! we like metal and still do :)

and Opera ;)

Well if you think I'm a freak check out the rest of the League:

toyriffic listed Warrant! everyone likes Cherry Pie!!
greenplasticsquirtgun has a selection that I'd still listen to!
monstercafe is East Bound and Down!!!
flashlightsaresomethingtoeat has a pile of stuff on the tape!

10,111 Pageview Giveaway!! Free Stuff!!!

I can hardly believe that I started this blog in April and I have already gotten near 10K pageviews!! I've had a ball posting my thoughts and interacting with everyone out in the Blogosphere I've had the privilege to meet, so..... I'd like to give some stuff away!! I was gonna do it at 10,000 but since the number 111 follows me everywhere (seriously clocks, dollar amounts, all kinds of things..) I've decided to personalize it. SO.... here's the grub!!!

Dungeons and Dragons, comics, GI Joe, Star Wars, Hot Wheels....and anything else I may throw in. Anyway at whenthe counter at the side hits 10,111 Pageviews I'll pick two people, split the loot and send out the grub. If you want in here's what you do:
1. Follow me at the side bar so I know your not a spammer
2. Just respond to this post letting me know your in.

Easy peasy. And I don't have many followers so the odds are good you'll win! If there is no interest, then I'll pack it back into the Museum storage and wait til I get some grub you all want!!

Star Wars Return of the Jedi ROTJ Presto Magix... Rub One OFF!!

This is a flash back to the simple times of youth! PRESTO MAGIX!! I had about  million of these and loved to get doubles and triples so I could set up the scenes in different ways......ahhhhhh youth!! Anyway if you are unfamiliar with these you got a diorama scene and some transfers that you could rub with a pencil onto the scene and set it up for whatever action you wanted. There were so many sets available for different lines and such but Star Wars was my main attraction. I got these three MIP with the display box which brought back some memories!! They've been sitting displayed but I might have to do an update later because I am itching to rub one off with these beauties. I have some others that I'll be posting over time but this is the first batch.

Uhh huh huh, Hey Bevis, he said rub one off...
Hehehehehehehehe, yeah! Heheheehehheehe....

Pinball and Arcade games out in the wild !!!! Frogger, Elvis, Big Buck, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga and more!!

This weeks vacation travels took me to Lancaster Lanes out in Lancaster NY for some bumper bowling for Jr and some old people throwing a ball down the lane erratically for me and the Mrs. Inside I was able to capture some arcade games and pinball in their natural habitat!!

First up is the 2004 Elvis Pinball by Stern. This was a fun game to play! Multi ball, lots o Elvis tuneage.... a great playing machine !!

Next up is the 2001 High Roller Casino pinball machine by Stern. OK play. Only played once and didn't fair well :(

Here is an awesome cabinet! A mini game center with Ms. Pac Man, Frogger and Galaga!! This is where most of our quarters went as my son loves all these games !! It was pretty dark over in this area and I couldn't get any good pictures of the cabinet :(

Didn't play the 2003 Sega Eighteen Wheeler but it looked pretty frikin cool!

or didn't play the Big Buck Open Season...the one that got away .......

Well, you never know what you can see out in the wild!
