Iron Man from the Marvel Secret Wars line circa 1984. I remember wanting one of these quite a bit but never getting it til a few years ago.
By far my favorite Iron Man figure.
I was a huge fan of the Iron Man comic pre #200 and this figure is a great representation of the red and gold version armor.
That's the face of a hero!
This figure is perfect.....
This figure is perfect.....
Just don't get out of line!!!
Iron Man: "Originally I came with a gun....but threw it away cause I don't need it."
Punisher: "I got a gun right here.."
Iron Man: "I got a boot right here."
Iron Man: "Got myself a new utility belt!"
Originally Iron Man came with a shield and a gun.....I guess Mattel figured that Iron Man needed some accessories but for me I don't need em. I snagged this guy sans accessories and display him like Stan Lee intended. Gold,Bold and Invincible.
Agreed! Perfect Ironman!
ReplyDeleteIve seen all the new ones and they just dont compare. This guy has a quality that is simple and timeless.
DeleteUsed to have this one twice!....My first one as a young man and my second in more recent years.
ReplyDeleteAlot of my figures are like that.... it is fun chasing them down :)
DeleteThat is cool. I love the fights you create.
ReplyDeleteDan
Thanks! They are ACTION figures!! Gotta let em loose :)
DeleteThis was one of my favorite Action figures growing up as well. I think he and Batman (the exact one that I won from your giveaway) were constantly teaming up and having kick-ass adventures. I NEED to find one of these guys for myself.
ReplyDeleteI personally didn't mind the lack of articulation in that line of figures either. That Iron man was very sturdily built, and just looked awesome.
I like the whole line. They are timeless. Glad Batman found a good home!
DeleteI still have my Secret Wars Doom! I loved these... Iron Man, Doc Ock, & Kang too-
ReplyDeleteThe whole line is great, Doom is one of my favorites. Thinkin about the Secret Wars figures has got me thinkin I may need to track a few more down......
