Vintage WWF Ice Cream Bars, you can lick your favorite wrestler.....

Reis over at dorkhorde.blogspot.com posted about his favorite childhood frozen treats and I started looking up WWF (currently WWE) Ice Cream Bars and what a nostalgia trip! The videos are funny as hell!! Check em out!!

(and while looking these up I found out that in the WWE - CM Punk - did some angle about the Ice cream bars so if you are a fan here is some history. If you are like me - got out of wrestling after the demise of the Philadelphia based ECW folded - then enjoy:)

Warduke: a Retrospective; How the Mighty warrior fell.....

WARDUKE: A name that struck fear in all plastic warriors. A figure that was the champion of all young children. His record and legend are well known, but one day he fell from grace in a match that most bloggers felt he would be the easy victor.

How can a warrior so feared and seemingly unbeatable be defeated by The Black Knight from Dragonriders of the Styx? See:  dragonriders-of-styx-black-knight.

Many factors led to this tragic tale:

His long time trainer Kelek died unexpectedly. Kelek was the father figure Warduke needed in his life, and when the wizard passed away, Warduke had no grounding influence.

His marriage to Skylla was by most peoples accounts the beginning of the end. Her domineering ways and her penchant for spending his treasure at an alarming rate was weighing down his psyche and forcing him to Dungeon Delve at an alarming rate.

Then enter his new advisor: Ogre King. By most accounts he was only using Warduke for his profit, taking most in fees and high percentages. The people Ogre King surrounded Warduke were only their to prop him up so "The King of all D&D" could reap in the profit. His catchphrase "Only in Blackmoor" summed up this greedy promoter: only an ogre like this could run rampant in a setting like this!

We know what happens next....... see: warduke-vs.-black knight

Warduke fell in a match that should have propelled him to Immortal status. But instead his demons and the people he surrounded himself with drug him down.

We can only hope he doesn't continue to spiral out of control. Maybe "Get back to Basics." See if Ringlerun would take him in and reshape his career. Only time will tell.....

UPDATE: Warduke spotted with a new tribal facial tattoo. This new move doesn't look good for the once mighty champion getting his life back together......

Dungeons and Dragons Warduke vs. Dragonriders of the Styx Black Knight What would Happen ??

Warduke vs. The Black Knight. What would be the outcome! How would these two figures compare in a Helmeted Head to Helmeted Head duel???

Lets find out......

Warduke draws first, using his height advantage to slice at his smaller opponent before he can even raise his sword!!!

But the Black Knight, using a lightning quick stroke, blasts his opponent and knocks him off his feet!!

Please Hammer Don't Hurt em!! Warduke kisses the ring of his new master....

The Black Knight takes Warduke into his service! He can always use a strong warrior to carry his treasure !!!!

So there you have it! The Black Knight is victorious over Warduke and the question is laid to rest.....Cmon, you read it on the internet! It has to be true!!!!!   :)

Dragonriders of the STYX Black Knight stands up to any Dungeons and Dragons figure !!!

This figure was one of my all time favorites as a kid. I had a bunch of the Dragonriders of the Styx figures, but the Black Knight was my favorite! DFC (Dimensions for Children) produced some excellent figures for this line in 1983, and I finally have the one that I've been looking for. Obviously produced to catch the D&D craze, but they do stand well against their LJN counterparts. In my opinion, the Black Knight could have been one of them. I used him alot as the silent sentinel of Lord Drex (Drex was always the leader of the villains).

The card art and backboard detail is awesome! I always marvel at the detail put into the packaging back then and it was done with such inferior technology! The only bad memory I have of this line is that the Wizard exploded (completely fell apart) within a few days of purchase, and I was excited to get him cause I didn't have Kelek or Ringlerun yet, making him the first Wizard. Oh, the calamities of childhood!!

Kenner's Darth Vader is a cut above......

Here it is......

The Man (mostly) in black......

DARTH VADER!!!!!

OK I know.......everyone had it, has it, yawn........

Put it in perspective......

This is the plastic likeness of the Greatest Villian of all time. It has a light saber that can retract, they even made it taller than the rest of the figures for scale. It was made in 1977!! Cmon...this is THE action figure line that made everything else possible!! THIS IS THE FIRST ICONIC ACTION FIGURE MADE !!!  Its like having a historic statue in your hands......as a child!!!!!

.......My first Leia figure dropped and her head popped off, what did I do to make her "removable" head playworthy........Vader does have that lightsaber.............

Cobra Mercenary Major Bludd GI Joe's First Nightmare !!!

Been on a GI Joe kick lately as it was my all time favorite as a child and still is...

So, here is one of the Bad Guys .... MAJOR BLUDD.

Cobra Operative, published Poet...

....and a damn cool figure too!!

.....and clearly the right arm was armored because of the rocket launchers thrust trail, not a cybernetic arm like I have read a few places!! The gun doesn't stay there too well though.....

Anyway.....I had the Cobra, the Cobra Officer, Cobra Commander (Mickey Version) , but this guy was the first bad guy with a face and personality I could capture. Got him as a mail order when he was first offered, then for some reason, I felt the need to get him again carded and wound up having two. He wasn't a faceless minion, he was a Bad Guy, a personality, a wild card that could give the Joe's a challenge.

I even had him challenge Destro for the Baroness's attention .....and she liked it :)

THE DEATH STAR IS ORBITING SATURN !!!!!

I know what you are thinking.....

The Death Star is in fact orbiting Saturn....but it is called MIMAS. This is one of Saturn's moons and, as you can see, it bears a striking resemblance to a certain Imperial Space Station. That massive crater is named Herschel and it is about the size of Australia......

I love this picture. It shows how awesome the cosmos is and how anywhere you look, a toy obsessed, Star Wars fan can find something to relate to :)

UPDATE: CAUSE THEY ASKED FOR IT!!!!

Transformers Soundwave ... the second best Decepticon !!!

In this corner.......from Cybertron.....iiiittssssssss SOUNDWAVE!!!

OK....its the robot heroes version....

But I like these little dudes and a G1 Soundwave is not in the budget....at least I haven't scored it cheap yet :)

I, as a  child, put Megatron above all other Transformers. He was cool, bad and I could use him as a gun in my other play! But I always had a real soft spot for Soundwave. In the cartoon he had a cool voice and was Meg's right hand man. He came with cassettes that ejected and were his minions. His head looked like the Decepticon logo. His batteries changed into GUNS!! How cool is that.

Cool. Real Cool.

Check him out!!

Cylon: Battlestar Galactica Figure: Star Wars Play!!

This is the Cylon action figure from the Battlestar Galactica line of figures, released in 1978 or 1979 by Mattel.

Battlestar Galactica Cylon Figure

That information is more than I knew about this figure when I got one as a kid....

Battlestar Galactica Cylon Figure

Robot looking figure with a rifle that had a bayonet on the end of it....
Some Bad guy from a show that starred Lorne Green......

Battlestar Galactica Cylon Figure

NAAAA.....

This had to be the leader of the Stormtroopers! The only other figure that had Vader's respect and would carry out the orders given to him. This was the second in command of the Empire! The Glorious ULTIMATE STORMTROOPER!!!!

Yep. To this day I have never seen Battlestar Galactica and have no idea what a Cylon really is. I even typed Cyclon a bunch of times and took em out in edit. This was a cool looking, bad guy that could be used in Star Wars play and that's where he got his fame. I even had Starbuck and Lorne Green's figure and they became Rebel extras. This guy became more. He became part of Star Wars. He went further.......

I know I'm not the only one. YOU did it too. Admit it. They should just package this figure in a Star Wars card and put it out cause every would go.......yeah, that's what I did with mine.

and you did too.

The Micronauts !!! A toy that I had very few of...

Yes, that's right. For some strange reason I never got into the Micronauts. I had a Time Traveler and an Acroyear. I believe I wanted more but my parents probably passed em over for GI Joe, Star wars and a host of others. This is the only one I have currently.

Micronauts figure

I got him just a few months ago for display thinkin I should have one.

Micronauts figure

Cool looking but has a green arm for some reason.....

Micronauts figure

I'm thinkin he's a Time Traveler but I'm not well versed in these guys.

Micronauts figure

I remember wanting these guys and thinking they were cool but never got many. The Time Traveler, a red one, broke and ended up in the trash. The Acroyear I got at a flea market. The figure went to the side but that Knife was pretty cool!! I used that alot!

Well....if anyone reading this can give some input into this guy I'd appreciate it! I got him on display but don't know much about em.....

MILLENNIUM LEE !! The Dukes will be FLYIN around HAZZARD in this baby!!!

The HOBBIT movie news !! Dwarves in Barrels picture!!!

THE HOBBIT MOVIE WILL BE EPIC!!! DWARVES IN BARRELS!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!

Here's a pic posted at firstshowing.net -click the link for the full story- I had to share this!!

Apparently they posted it from EntertainmentWeekly.com but I saw it there! I cannot state how excited I am to see this movie. Peter Jackson will make this movie all it should be and more! Wait til there is a picture of Smaug!!!

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!!!

the Simpsons Prison Sideshow Bob and the unfortunately placed RAKE !!!

Sideshow BOB!!!!! I've always loved this character and Kelsey Grammer is PERFECT for the voice of the evil, yet sophisticated Simpson's Villain. I had to get him from the Playmates line, series 9 has him in his prison uniform but also includes his unfortunate nemesis......

simpsons prison sideshow bob playmates series nine 9

THE RAKE!!!!!!

simpsons prison sideshow bob playmates series nine 9

Playmates did such a great job with the sculpts on this line, thats a perfect likeness.

simpsons prison sideshow bob playmates series nine 9

I like this line alot but Bob's figure is awesome! I mean who doesn't like the villain that's into opera?? As I researched some facts for this post I came across a Sideshow Bob 20th anniversary figure singing H.M.S. Pinafore - one of my favorite operas - from the episode Cape Feare!! That will be posted soon after I get ahold of one :)
