Recently I had asked the great Jboypacman of Revenge from the Cosmic Ark fame if he would trade for a figure I wanted and, being that he is extremely nice, he said he would just send em to me.
How awesome right?
Then I opened the package and he sent THIS:
Holy Crap! What an awesome guy! My sincere thanks for such a wonderful gift!
I will be posting these guys individually over the next few weeks!!!
Which brings me to the MYSTERY!!
I asked about the figure pictured below which is at the heart of the link at the sideboard asking everyone to IDENTIFY THIS FIGURE!!!
He fits in nicely with his brethren!!
As it happens, while I was waiting for the awesome gesture to arrive....another person, only identified as Bravo, gave me the information that I so desperately sought!!
Here is his response:
"Military One was the name, IIRC. Came on
cards shaped the number "1".
I had the paratrooper, "terrorist" (red beret guy), and frogman (who had his goggles up). They even made military women in dress uniforms. Kinda homely. They all had creepy unpainted eyes. Some figures had weapons, some didn't. The weapon was usually the M-60 from Galoob's A-Team or whatever toys that gun originated with."

To him I declare: BRAVO!!! Thank you for helping me!! I swiped this picture off Ebay to give an example of the line and I immediately remembered all of this!! I snagged a lot of A-Team M-60's off Ebay and as soon as I saw em I knew that was the M-60, I remember it being nicely interchangeable with the Joes. As soon as I can acquire a carded example I will make a detailed post about this line!!!
Once again THANK YOU JOHN!! You are too kind!! and THANK YOU BRAVO for taking the time to help and give me the information I needed!!!
Very cool! I still need to pick up old Red Hulk myself.,
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at how articulated he is!! Its a great figure!!
DeleteThe mystery solved at last! And am glad you like everything i sent and i wish i could of sent more. : )
ReplyDeleteSir, you are too generous!! You have gone beyond expectations!!! I loved it all and give many thanks!!!
DeleteVery cool! Jboy sent me a spare astronaut fig from the same series as that zombie and he packed in a ton of other stuff with it. He's crazy :D
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice suprise! It was cool to get stuff I wouldnt normally go after!
DeleteAlways nice to see a toy mystery solved, and Jboy is definitely one of the most generous toy collectors out there!
ReplyDeleteYes! and the best thing is that it was from a comment...I love the interaction throughout the blogosphere. The title says it all.... JBOY RULES!!!!
DeleteYou're welcome. I came across your blog via a link at Joe A Day.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to know what all was made for Military One. The paratrooper I had was in camo. I know there was a sailor in white, too. 4 service women (USMC, USN, USAF, US Army). I almost recall firefighters, too. Not sure. Hazy memories.
I had a figure like that Bravo Company guy, but in black with a ski mask and IIRC, came with like a small 1/72 scale die cast tank.
Once again, many thanks !! I love Joe A Day....Rob really does a great job over there !!
DeleteI got a lead on a few Military One MOC versions and have researched a bunch, so when I get hold of the new addtions I'm gonna go through the line.
That Bravo Company figure is entirely new to me so when I get down tohim it's gonna be like Christmas learning a whole new toy line :) Thanks again !
