Remco has a Secret of the NINJA !!!! EVERYONE loves a NINJA !!!

Remco churns out great toys like its easy and this is a fine example of their mastery. From the Secret of the Ninja line: Karate Black Belt Champion !! Unlike the Black Ninja that I posted about here : REMCO NINJA , this guy is clad in white and ready to kick ass !!

I've got his removable white mask but the wrong weapon.
He's supposed to have two Tonfa so I'll be on the hunt for those.

Still, he is pretty formidable with the massive Scimitar !

He's got a lever on his Butt to activate his kicking action.....

The two Black Ninja think they are up to the challenge.......

The Champion !!!!

I missed out on these guys when I was a kid but at least I get to enjoy them now !! Who wasn't big into Ninja in the 80's, Hell, I started looking up Ninja for this post and spent an hour looking at weapons and tactics !!! NINJA RULE and so does REMCO !!!!

Remco has a Secret......Secret of the NINJA!!!!!

What???......Kobra Khan from from a previous post (click here) .....be careful.....there are NINJA about!!!!

I warned him.....
Tread carefully around Ninja!!

In 1984, Remco, the AWESOME toy maker, put out the Secret of the Ninja line in response to the Ninjamania that captured America at the time. I had no idea these guys existed back then but thanks to John over at revengefromthecosmicark and his love of Remcos, I started trollin Ebay and came across this guy!! Picked him up for a reasonable price but alas no card :( Anyway as far as I can tell he is just a basic Ninja figure but just unbelievably awesome! I cannot for the life of me figure (pun intended) out why some figures slipped off my radar as a kid cause this line of Ninjas is the F'n bomb! Lets check em out....

Masked....

Unmasked reveals an incredibly details visage!

This guy comes with removable mask and Ninjato.....
what the heck is Khan thinking now!??!?

Ninja are dangerous even without their weapons!!!!

For a figure that has a "Battlematic Action" he is pretty posable.

The usual lever in the back moves the sword up and down slicing opponents in half!!

Typical of Remco's of that era, the detail is exceptional!

I'm glad I came across this guy, cause the whole line looks like something worth collecting and researching. There seems to be about 10 or so figures in the line with several variants. Its pretty amazing that now pushing 40 I can find toys that I missed out on and collect em after the fact!

Sgt Rock Gunner MOC from Remco

I have a soft spot for these figures. Remco's Sgt. Rock line is a "Knock Off" of GI Joe, but they are really nice figures in their own right. I had alot of the figures. The articulation is limited at the knees and arms but they have enough detail to put them to good use. I used them mostly as front line soldiers for the Joes, or fill in bad guys that weren't Cobra but maybe soldiers from foreign lands and such.

Here we have Gunner:

Got this guy MOC for a sweet price:)
Had to get him just for the patch I mentioned in my post about the "Bad Guys":
I'm really liking getting figures MOC. The card art itself brings back memories of seeing them hanging on the pegs!

For a Gunner he only comes with a M-16 and a machete.....
Usually Sgt Rock figures came with a nice hoard of accessories and I incorporated them into the GI Joe weapon stockpile.
The Machete and walkie talkie have hooks on them that make it easier for the figure to hold them but can be hooked onto the figure's belt too.
The shovel can be put in a hole in the figure's belt to store it there as well.
In my world that sort of stuff went a long way and I still dig when a figure has a holster or can carry all his equipment.

Here's the back of the card showing off some of the vehicles. I never got any Sgt. Rock vehicles, opting for GI Joe ones, but I did get the machine gun nest with the mounted 50 cal, sandbags and barbed wire......I put that to alot of use!!

GI Joe was and is a great toy that defined war play for kids of my generation, but knock offs like Remco's Sgt Rock added alot of flavor to allow for a bit more creativity with play. They were usually a bit cheaper so you could get a bunch of em. My parents didn't encourage "Army Building" cause in their eyes they didn't want to buy multiples of the same figure. Lines like this one made it possible to bolster the ranks.......HEY someone had to get shot up!! Snake Eyes could only shoot the Cobra and Cobra Officer so many times!!

REMCO AWA...... RUN its the ROADWARRIORS!!!!

If you happen to be standing in the squared circle and hear "Iron Man" playing, RUN! FAST!

The Road Warriors were a Epic Tag Team and in 1985, Remco made them epic in Plastic!!

Animal!!
Hawk!!

The Legion of Doom.
The Road Warriors.

Remco AWA figures are awesome. Check out the accesories!!

Dog collars, Belts, Chaps....and the detail on these figures is great! The whole line is well put together and accesorized like a mother!

The best thing is that if He-Man or his weirdo friends get mouthy, these bad boys come flyin in  to put the beat down on em!!
